We are excited to announce that Clean Heat Rhode Island will transition to ENERGY STAR 6.1 Cold Climate efficiency criteria for our residential air source heat pump incentives starting 2025. Adopting these criteria helps Rhode Island meet its climate goals and align with surrounding states, making it easier for manufacturers, distributors, installers, and consumers across New England to choose heat pumps.

The new criteria will apply to projects pre-approved on or after January 1, 2025. To qualify under the current 2024 requirements, new applications must be submitted by December 15, with pre-approval received by December 31, 2024.
